
Above, the beginning of the Burton innovations with the different board from years 1977-1979 are shown.

The pictures show when Burton began to start using shorter boards in order to make freestyle moves easier. These specific
boards are from 1980-1983.

These snowboards shown above are later models from the 80's (1987-1989), which show the new metal sides.

Above, are models from the early 1990's (1990-1992), which show the new bidirectional twin shape that is now a regular commodity
on snowboards.

The boards shown above are from 1994-1996. They show the newer freestyle shape given by the new flexible core that was popularized
in the early to mid 90's and is still used today.

By the late 90's (pictured 1997-1999) the freestyle board was a regular fixture in the Burton snowboard collection, and was
being refined and tuned to the customers likings, but few innovations were made during this time period.
